Brighton Arts Council - Where Creative Minds Meet
Brighton is home to the vibrant and growing Brighton Arts Council whose members display their talent throughout the municipality. From the Lighthouse Interpretive Centre operated by the Friends of Presqu'ile Park to the Brighton and District Chamber of Commerce to many art rotating displays and events throughout the municipality, members of the BAC share their inspiration and talent.
Originally established as a literary group, the BAC quickly grew to include painters, woodsmiths, metalsmiths, photographers, carvers, performers, glass and fabric artists, potters, even an renowned teddy bear creator, and internationally recognized jazz singer.
The BAC partners with local community organizations on many events and hosts its own shows, sales, and exhibitions throughout the year, including Art in Memorial Park, and Brighton Your Christmas. The BAC is the art partner for Brighton's Country Living Show on the last weekend of April.
Promoting arts and artists in Brighton is the mandate, and the BAC welcomes artists of all disciplines, comfort levels, and ages to join.
The BAC meets the second Tuesday of every month at the King Edward Park Community Centre from 7 to 9 pm. For more information, please contact Ron Waddling at 613.475.3541 or email brightonart@xplornet.com.
